Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention

I worked in aquatic invasive species management for a city government in Washington state for four years. In this role, I spoke with boat owners and beach-goers at public boat launches about the risks that aquatic invasive species pose to the health of the community water supply, fish, and the entire lake ecosystem.

I also conducted shoreline monitoring surveys and educational campaigns to survey, mitigate, and prevent new invasive species introductions. As a city employee, I was privileged to also participate in a historic dam removal project, eliminating a fish passage barrier on the Nooksack River.
